Flower Power Libations
Is bringing the flower power to the global cocktail scene, adding hints of poppy, violet, and more to classic drinks Some of Virtuoso's hoteliers favorite libations evoke their region of origin, with French roses or Italian elderflowers, for example. Here, are a few options for putting a little bud in your drink!
New York- Peony Vodka: Mix with ginger beer in a Moscow mule, a toss in a few muddled rose petals
Cote d'Azur- Tempus Fugit Liqueur de Violettes: For a floral take on a gin or vodka martini, use violet liqueur instead of vermouth. just skip the olives and add a lemon twist instead
England- Geranium Gin: Upgrade from a regular G&T to a GG&T. Chose a specialty tonic, such as Fever-Tree or Fentimans, substitute Geranium Gin and garnish with edible flowers or a slice of lime
Piedmont- Fiorente Elderflower Liqueur: It works wonderfully in cucumber and vodka cocktails or poured over ice and topped with a specialty tonic.
Loire Valley- Combier Liqueur de Rose: Add a splash to Champagne for a Gypsy-style "Everything's Coming Up Roses" toast. (This is my personal fav!)
